ACTIVE INTERNATIONAL REBRANDS TO EMBRACE
THE ‘WHAT’S NEXT ECONOMY’

35th Anniversary Marks New Focus on Agility and Innovation

(Toronto, ON) June 26, 2019 – Active International, a media and asset solutions company
and Canadian leader in corporate trade has rebranded to align with their mission to help brands
and media agencies achieve more. What began as a barter and inventory solutions organization
35 years ago, has evolved into a commercial innovation company to meet the demands of an
ever-changing marketplace. As companies adapt to a ‘What’s Next Economy’, Active
International is focusing on helping businesses innovate while they operate so they remain
agile.

Unforeseeable disruption, market volatility, viewership fragmentation, digital transformation and
speed of industry changes are key indicators of the ‘What’s Next Economy’. As brands navigate
the increasing market pressure, traditional agencies are finding it increasingly challenging to
meet client demands. Recent studies from the Canadian Marketing Association and the
Association of National Advertisers report that some brands have taken their media
buying/planning and creative in-house to have better control over their spend and data, and to
be more responsive with their campaigns.

Active International works in partnership with over 71 brands and their agencies, including
Scott’s Miracle Gro, Ricola, Melitta, Carrier Enterprise Canada and Rust-Oleum, to achieve
more with their assets and media investments.

“Active’s media and asset expertise, data-driven mindset and media partnerships allow clients
to transform assets into new forms of value with peace of mind. Our trading model continues to
fuel our ability to mine value and deliver ROI where others cannot,” said Andrew Bulmer,
President, Managing Director Canada, Active International.

The new brand was developed by marketing agency CBX, and is a global initiative that has
launched across all offices in 14 countries to support their commercial innovation and agility
strategy. A refreshed logo and branding elements have been implemented on the company’s
websites, social media channels, and marketing and sales materials.

“Our refreshed branding underscores the evolution in our company philosophy to stay
competitively agile,” said Bulmer. “As we enter a new phase we are bridging our past success
to expand and perfect our client-centric approach to meet the ever-changing needs and
demands of the business.”

A key element in the new client-centric approach is a content marketing strategy executed
through a #Media360 speaker series, insight-driven articles, case study reports and an engaged
voice in industry associations and on social media. This is the first extensive brand refresh for
Active International since 2005.
